Steni and Kato Steni: Greece's Hidden Mountain Villages
Steni and Kato Steni are neighbouring mountain villages on the slopes of Mount Dirfys (1,743 m) in central Evia. Steni (~450 m) is the main trailhead for Dirfys summit hikes, with traditional tavernas famous for grilled meats and mountain cuisine. Kato Steni (~300 m) is quieter and more residential. Together they offer authentic Greek mountain village life just 2 hours from Athens.
