Albanie Climate Overview
Albania features a Mediterranean climate along the coast and a continental climate inland. The Albanian Riviera enjoys over 300 sunny days per year with warm summers and mild winters. The mountainous interior, including the Albanian Alps, experiences cold winters with heavy snowfall. Coastal temperatures range from 7°C in winter to 32°C in summer.
Seasonal Patterns
Spring (March–May) is warm along the coast with frequent rain in the mountains. Summer (June–August) brings dry, hot weather to coastal areas. Autumn sees increasing rainfall, especially in the north. Winter is mild on the coast but harsh in highland regions where temperatures drop below -15°C.
Weather Considerations
Albania receives some of the highest rainfall in Europe along the western mountain slopes. Flash flooding occurs during autumn storms. The country benefits from a growing tourism sector, with weather conditions along the Riviera rivaling those of Greece and southern Italy.
